I will abundantly bless her provisions; I will satisfy her poor with bread. Her priests I will clothe with salvation, and her saints will shout for joy. The People of Zion Walk with Strength in God ● “Beautiful in elevation, the joy of the whole earth, is Mount Zion, in the far north, the city of the great King. Within her citadels, God has made himself known as a fortress.” (Psalm 48:2-3) ● “He who sits in the heavens laughs; the Lord …will speak to them … ‘As for me, I have set my King on Zion, my holy hill.’” (Psalm 2:4-6) ● “And the ransomed of the Lord shall return and come to Zion with singing; everlasting joy shall be upon their heads; they shall obtain gladness and joy, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.” (Isaiah 35:10) ● “Blessed are those whose strength is in you, in whose heart are the highways to Zion. As they go through the Valley of Baca, they make it a place of springs; the early rain also covers it with pools. They go from strength to strength; each one appears before God in Zion.” (Psalm 84:5-7) 3. The Realm and End of Zion Is Glory ● “The Lord loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwelling places of Jacob. Glorious things of you are spoken, O city of God. Selah.” (Psalm 87:2-3) ● “By faith he [Abraham] went to live in the land of promise, as in a foreign land, living in tents …For he was looking forward to the city that has foundations, whose designer and builder is God.” (Hebrews 11:9-10) ● “But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem…” (Hebrews 12:22) ● “Then came one of the seven angels …and spoke to me, saying, ‘Come, I will show you the Bride, the wife of the Lamb.’ And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great, high mountain, and showed me the holy city Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God.” (Revelation 21:9-10)
